The year is 1979. Life on Earth: A Natural History by David Attenborough is on BBC. On the show, he said “The fact remains that man has unprecedented control over the world and everything in it. And so, whether he likes it or not, what happens next is very largely up to him.” Kirloskar Vasundhara picked up this baton with a simple vision to spark a conversation. A conversation to preserve and protect the Earth. For today. And tomorrow.

With India’s first international film festival that hosts films with an environmental conscience, Kirloskar Vasundhara kickstarted a movement. A movement that brought together people from different walks of life, with a shared sentiment to partake in this conversation. Conversation that has then percolated across the country and translated into action. Action that has helped in restoring a river, setting up floating beds, actioning Indian lotus plantations amongst many others.

When the pandemic hit, the need to continue the Kirloskar Vasundhara International Film Festival was paramount. So they came to us and we re-imagined the entire experience by taking it online.

From re-designing the identity to taking the festival’s reach onto a global stage, we embarked on a partnership that we hold close to our heart and nurture with our shared commitment.

“There is a tremendous need of the hour to expedite environmental protection for our own survival. We were in a fix on how to take this mission forward during the pandemic as our physical festival could not be held. So rather than seeing the present pandemic as an obstruction to hold the festival, we embarked on a two-fold mission. One, going online to make it global and two, providing programmes by experts to throw some light on the possible basic-causes that led to the current pandemic situation, and if the human race has to face such situations effectively, what changes need to be made within ourselves and around us, now as well as in the future.
